Remembering Mary - Click here for resources
Dear Parents, Staff and Students
With the holidays fast approaching I take the opportunity to wish all the children a well-earned rest. I know that the teachers are looking forward to the holidays as well. Please keep safe and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 9th October.
Thank you to those parents who took heed of my comments about coming later in the afternoon - the traffic has eased somewhat. I do strongly recommend that you take note of this traffic problem and assist by coming a little bit later. If anyone has any suggestions of how we might improve the afternoon pickup please drop me a line.
Our Lady at Fatima
Week 1 of term 4 marks the 100th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady at Fatima. Most children today wouldn’t have a clue what this is about, so in week 1 we will be working on remembering Fatima and of course our blessed Mother Mary.
Monday 9th October we are having a school assembly at 10.45am (there will be no Tuesday assembly); Tuesday to Thursday there will be activities in the classroom around Fatima during religion time and then Friday the children will come together to celebrate a ‘human rosary”.
Mr Crichton and Ms Haworth
This week we also celebrate the retirement of Mr Gerry Crichton. We wish Gerry all the best in this new phase of his life.
We also thank Jess Haworth, intern teacher in Year 5, for her work here in term 3. Jess has been a fabulous intern and we wish her all success in her future.
Last week I wrote about cyber-bullying and again I want to emphasise to parents the importance of checking on what your children are doing online. You, as parents, are responsible for what your children do online. So, over the holidays take this opportunity to not only talk to your children about online etiquette, but make sure you have their password so that you can monitor what they are doing.
Parents need to also understand that young children under the age of 13 often are not allowed on certain apps. Personally, I think any child 12 and under should not have access to these apps – plenty of time when they are teenagers!
