I have chosen to review A Pinch of Magic. A Pinch of magic is a tremendously magical book. I would probably recommend it to ages 11+ as the language is descriptive and great for older kids. The main characters Felicity, Betty and Charlie Widdershin are trapped under an ancient family curse. It all starts one day when Betty and Charlie sneak out of the Poachers Pocket on Halloween. The girls have three magical items that can either change their fate and end the curse or it can simply lead them into even more trouble. Words used to describe the book were ‘Spellbinding’ and ‘Simply Phenomenal’. Many reviews I read said that the book was just amazing and such a delight to read. I myself sometimes struggle to find a good book to lock your head into and to be able to understand and flow with, but Michelle Harrison has made this easy. The minute I bought A Pinch of Magic I knew it was perfect for me. I read it with ease and found it very interesting. Written and Illustrated by the award-winning writer of The Thirteen Treasures, Michelle Harrison’s book is simply amazing and you get lost in each and every word.
I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
